As I have mentioned my daughter sings, often and very well.. and not just to my untrained ear, by the way.
so while she was singing the song from The Sound of Music.. thoughts ran through my head.. what are some of MY favorite things.
right now, this very second, my favorite thing is the Taco bell XXL ground beef nachos. I cant get enough of them .. seriously. Not sure why, but add a little shredded lettuce and I'm purring while I crunch.
the other thing I recently discovered and will never live without again... Tropical mango flavored PowerAde.. YUMMMM
yes, if you haven't guessed, food.. food is a favorite thing. and Sunshine and COOL breezes. I stress cool, because here in Indiana it gets HOT and not just HOT but Humid.. and humidity is most assuredly NOT my favorite thing.
having the freedom to write( type) as I like, no attention to grammatical details, or proper punctuation...Favorite! e.e. Cummings -HERO
My faith in my Savior.. favorite. Knowing Christ is my personal friend, that HE knows me by name ... FAVORITE. I hope that this week as you celebrate the season of Passover and Resurrection Sunday, you can reflect on the sacrifice that was made for all of us.
Passover is my Favorite holiday. I grew up in a Jewish home, it wasn't until I was much older that the rich symbolism of the Passover tradition made complete sense. The Lamb of GOD is our Savior Jesus Christ, and because of HIS blood, we will not die, but me made whole and live!
Here's a short video on the impact Christ can have.

What , where ,when and Why
WHAT:
a blog about my random thoughts, family experiences, past stories for family history.
Where: a small little suburb of Indianapolis In... current time. Some days it feels like long ago, in a galaxy far far away....
WHEN... with 4 kids, a husband a dog and several community, school and church commitments, as often as I get a chance...hopefully at least once a week.
WHY:
Here's the kicker.. many years ago I was an avid journal keeper, through moves and floods, several of my journals have ben lost. I was talking to Pink the other day, and explaining that many of the middle school crises she was experiencing were common, and that I had similar issues. It would have been so very helpful to have been able to hand her my old diary and let her read for herself, in my dramatic 14 year old writings, how some things don't change. In addition, being a stay at home mom all these years, I have some pretty random thoughts and no one to share with when it happens...
The REAL reason, just between us, I am starved for attention. I used to be very social, and loved entertaining a group of friends. This is my opportunity to do it again, without being interrupted,

start at the beginning
Is what I often heard as the best advice. Having no experience with blogging, I'm harkening back to basic journalism rules I learned in high school( a LONG time ago). WHO , WHAT,WHEN, WHERE, and HOW, but in this case WHY...
Just one today:
WHO:
a simple traditional family living in the Midwest. Indianapolis to be specific. Papa is a senior Project manager, I ( momma ) am a stay at home mother, who has a crazy mixed up background, with a little flare for drama, and a desire to do SOMETHING in this world. More about me , I m sure will come up.
Boy child #1 ( Bug) is now 23, married and an US Navy Corpsman. He and his wife are stationed in San Diego. Sometimes we refer to him as the prototype. lots of things I think we did well, many things we just didn't know better.
Boy Child #2 ( Pickle) is 19, currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Porto Alegre Brazil. Its located far to the South of Brazil. He has been gone since August 2013, changing the dynamics at home quite a bit. I knew he ate a lot, but didn't realize until he was gone what spoiled milk smelled like.
Girl child#3 ( Pink) just turned 14 going on 24. She is a joy and a trial all at the same time. Every family should experience having a girl. She's so different from all of her brothers. She suffers from a rare chronic pain illness and severe pulmonary disease making life just a little more adventurous. She often tells me not to worry, " breathing is over rated." Interesting considering she is a very talented little singer, traveling the world with the Indianapolis Children's choir.
Boy child#4( Schmoo) is almost 12. He is a sweet gentle giant. He was a preemie, and had some medical issues from that, but has bounced into life ready and willing to make a friend wherever he goes. He loves swimming, track and FOOTBALL.. and going to sleep away camp ever summer.
Furry Child ( Boomer) is a rambunctious failed experiment. He is a "designer bred" dog. The Beagador or Labbe. mixing a beagle and lab together to get a smaller family dog.. we got a big beagle who talks back A LOT! but pull out a laser pointer and the entertainment lasts for hours.
This a basic intro, as I mentioned I'm sure I tell you all more about each of us as I continue.
